My Little Frame

Ever since I got my own office at work, I've always had a picture of Jeremiah and I next to my monitor. After the wedding, I changed that picture to be a solo shot of him on our wedding day. First off, he's handsome. But more importantly, I've developed an interesting habit since changing the photo to just him. I now pick up the frame and often use it as a mirror. Sometimes I'm just too lazy to walk all the way to the bathroom just to see if my hair looks okay, but other times I look at it for something more. I look at him to see me. As I look at my reflection, I think of how he sees me. What does he see when he looks at me? What does he experience when I interact with him? What does he feel like when I overreact or when I do something kind? His little portrait not only makes me feel like he's spending the day with me, but it helps me see myself. Not just when I need to check my hair, but when I need to check my heart. When I need to take a deeper look and change. Thank you little portrait; you challenge me daily and encourage me when I need it.
