This year, it's number twenty-six.
And we're celebrating with a nice little staycation.
Mahj + Pahj Thank you for modeling such a beautiful marriage to us,
and for encouraging us and challenging us.
I don't think I ever expected to have so much stinkin fun
spending time with our parents.
You're some of our greatest friends.
and we love you!
Congratulations!!
Twenty-five years is a long time so we haven't taken celebrating lightly.
We played in Maui for a week, they're going out to breakfast and to the Pageant of the Masters, my grandparents are taking them out, and Jeremiah and I had them over last weekend for a little celebratory dinner.
The planned menu? Pesto baked chicken with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella, mashed potato parfaits, grilled asparagus, fresh fruit, and garlic cheese bread, and homemade lemon bars for dessert.
The actual menu? No mashed potatoes due to some unruly russets and snickerdoodles instead of lemon bars because... well, they just didn't want to hold together with the heat, I guess.
Despite a few lessons in the kitchen, we enjoyed having dinner with the family and loving on my parents.
I'm so thankful to have two loving parents. Two parents who have shown me the importance of commitment, the power of prayer, the value in investing in people, the reality of consequences, the need for God and His grace, and the benefits of our choice to love.
I love you mom and dad. I have been so richly blessed by you both.
This week was my parents' 24th wedding anniversary so in honor of them, here's a lovely picture of them in front of the best pizza place on this side of the country.Happy Anniversary, Mom & Dad. Thank you for being role models to Jeremiah and I. We love you!
