tGif, for sure

I am VERY much looking forward to this weekend.
Not necessarily because we're going anywhere exciting,
or because we're celebrating anything in particular,
but because it's been a strangely long week,
we have relatively NO weekend commitments
and the weather is scheduled to be gorgy.

I'm one happy girl.

I'm thinking I'll watch the Royal Wedding
{because 3am was just not conducive to my beauty sleep schedule},
help our sweet friends move into their new house,
work on a bridal shower gift for my sister-in-law,
prep a little for Mother's Day,
and enjoy a bit of sunshine after church on Sunday.

Have an absolutely lovely weekend!

Grandparents Weekend

One of our goals for 2011
is to show our family and friends just how much we love them.

So...

We're headed up to spend some time
with our grandparents this weekend.

It will be a whirlwind trip since we have to be back for church Sunday morning,
but we're so excited to:

have breakfast with my Papa
lunch with Jeremiah's Grandma
and dinner with my Grandma and Grandpa!
I'm so thankful to have these guys in my life.
So thankful that they live close,
and so thankful that family is a value close to my husband's heart.

What are YOU doing this weekend?

After a pretty busy week,
it was nice to enjoy a relaxing [and slightly warmer]
weekend at home.

A productive day around the homestead - chores, cleaning, bills...
Finally getting Putt Putt fixed for under 300 buckaroos
Dinner with Team Kooker
The Adjustment Bureau
Lots of snuggling
The third service at church (darn you DLS!)
Fruit smoothies in the springtime sunshine
A stroll around Coronado
New olive oil and balsamic. MmM!
Shave Ice Ice, Baby!
2 (count em, two!) afternoon naparoos
The fact that it didn't get dark til 7p last night
Lazy movies on the couch with the hubs.

A Relaxing Weekend

Back in September, Zion held a silent auction.
where Jeremiah and I purchased/won a weekend in Palm Springs.

We were supposed to use it by the end of the year,
but life has been pretty busy the past couple months,
so luckily we were able to switch to this weekend.

We stayed at Agua Caliente in Rancho Mirage
where we were excited to get upgraded to a suite on the tenth floorThe view from our balcony was beautifulWe had zero plans all weekend. It was fabulous!
I actually went to bed on Friday night thinking
"what the heck are we going to do tomorrow?"
I can't remember the last time I thought that.

We ended up sleeping in, playing games, eating yummy food,
going on a couple walks, watching movies in bed, having long conversations
and going on our annual Cabazon outlet shopping excursion.

One of the cafes at the hotel had a pretty sweet table
where we could play checkers, chess, pong, etc.
It was like a giant iPod table top. Rad!
I played video 5-hand draw while Jeremiah hung out at the blackjack table.
I sat there for hours and only lost about 20 or 30 bucks.Who needs breakfast-in-bed or a hot tub
when you can have breakfast in your own private jacuzzi tub.We had lunch at The River
and enjoyed a walk in the sunshineWe also tried out a wine bar that came highly recommended from a dear friend
Even though we've been traveling like crazy,
it was a nice, relaxing weekend away.

And a pretty good way to start the new year,
if I do say so myself.

Here comes Monday...

A Productive Saturday

I've had "House Cleaning" on my To Do list all week.
But instead of cleaning,
I've chosen to play with friends, watch tv, and craft.
And I've been a happy little girl.
But I know that "House Cleaning" had to come
before "Christmas Decorating" could.

So Saturday was the day...

Blinds wiped down? Check
Windows washed? Check
Floors vacuumed and scrubbed? Check
Bathroom cleaned? Check
Kitchen cleaned? Check
Dishes done? Check
Clean Laundry? Check
Random nonsense put away? Check
Bills paid and checkbook balanced? Check
Christmas decorations brought in from the garage? Check

Christmas wrapping and decorating in progress?
With Christmas music, Christmas movies, and a cozy fire?

Check, Check, Check!

A Lovely Morning

Remember how I planned to head over to Old Poway Park this weekend?
Well, it was a lovely morning indeed.

I strolled over to the cozy Tuscan Sunrise to grab an Italian Soda,
I sampled delicious chai, lemon cheese spread, and fresh fruit,
purchasing a loaf of warm gluten free bread from the Poway Farmers Market.
And I browsed the Boardwalk Craft Fair, chatting with different sellers.

What a perfect Saturday morning.

Here are a couple pictures from my morning walk.

Welcome to P-Town

Dear P-Town.

This weekend, we plan to walk over to your lovely park,
to stroll along the train tracks collecting crafts and fresh produce,
and to dine in your factory of hamburgers.

Thank you for welcoming us to the neighborhood.

Love,
The McLeods

Spontaneous Gift Giving

And how my Gram used to send cards for the smallest of holidays?

Well, put those together...
and we've got another generous gift for a silly holiday.

Thanks, Lyssie.
You're the best.

Not only because you painted my baseboards,
finished putting my desk together,
fully constructed my new shelving
and gave me a super cute candle holder,
but just because I love you!

Mr. & Mrs. Jacob Smith

Admiral Kidd's Club has got to be
one of my favorite wedding venues in San Diego.
It has such a gorgeous view of the marina and the skyline.
I about lose it every time we go to a wedding there.

Note: Mama Sarette looks S-M-O-K-I-N!Waiting for his brideAnd here she comes...I just loved their vows. They were handwritten and honest.
She promised to nag, make him pick up his dirty clothes,
