Second Impressions

God frequently teaches and re-teaches me
the importance of second impressions.

We're always taught to be conscious of making good first impressions,
but we should also be aware of the impressions we allow people to leave on us.

When I meet someone new or share in a new experience,
It's second nature for me to develop and acknowledge a mighty first impression.
Though that's not always negative,
That first impression can often by quick, critical, and judgmental.

Through a great deal of repetition and grace,
I continue to learn the importance of second, third and even fourth impressions
My first impressions must be re-evaluated. And refined.

When I forget this,
God reminds me faithfully.
