When the Stampleys moved to a larger home with a big, roomy kitchen and a gorgeous island in the middle, they didn't really have a need for this little make-shift island anymore. While celebrating Christmas together in 2008, Earl took me out to the garage to show me the cart. He thought it might be a nice addition to the apartment Jeremiah and I would live in once we got married. Immediately, a thousand ideas flooded my mind and I eagerly agreed to take it off their hands.
A few weeks later, our dear friend Earl passed away. That was the last conversation I had had with him.
This Christmas, his sweet wife Saundra showed up at my doorstep with the cart in tow. What a special momento for their family to share with me as I am honored to have this darling little cart in our home now. I have spent a couple weekends giving it a bit of makeover and it now lives in our spare room, housing some of my craft supplies. Sometimes I slip in there just to gaze upon its beauty and to remember our special friend, Earl.
And here it is, all closed up.Thank you, Stampleys, for sharing this little treasure with me.
I just love it!
