A Glimpse of the Kingdom

A simple call
a casual invite
and yet it made my entire day

My good friend, Stacy
remembered I spend most weeknights alone
while Jeremiah's busy at clients' during busy season.

So she invited me to join her and her husband
for dinner, shaved ice and a video sermon on marriage last night.

I cried the entire drive home.

What a sacred treasure it so feel known
to be shown genuine hospitality,
and to be allowed to share in such a rich relationship.

Such a beautiful privilege it is
to taste and see
the Kingdom.

Yesterday's Pennies

1. Morning Starbucks. Enough said.

2. This Conversation at work:

Jessi: Have any big plans this weekend?
Vendor: Buying a new car.
Jessi: Oh, how fun.
Vendor: Not really, mine is totaled.
Jessi: Oh my gosh. Are you okay?
Vendor: Yes, I'm fine. It's things like that that make you believe in something.
Jessi: I already believe in God, but it's things like that that make me so thankful.
Vendor: Good point.

3. A spontaneous trip to the Nordstrom's Half Yearly Sale

Happy Birthday, Stacy!

Stacy is the kind of girl you absolutely must be friends with. She has a quiet spirit and a beautiful soul. She challenges and encourages you and is as lovely as they come. And today, she's no longer 22. Happy 23rd Birthday, Stace! Can't wait to hang out on Saturday.

welcome home, jess

There's something so enchanting about coming home to a surprise on your doorstep.

So you might imagine my excitement when I opened up a sweet little sack from Stacy to find these little Autumn treasures. What a magical way to open the season.

Thank you, Stacy for your thoughtfulness.
