The View

Jeremiah and I had the loveliest of Sunday afternoons
spent with Mom & Dad McLeod and our dear friend miss Bonnie
who is recovering from a broken neck
and a rather intense fix-it surgery.

It was so nice to see Bonnie in good spirits
as we joined her for lunch and a backyard chat.
The prayers for her healing are being heard.

The view from Bonnie's beautiful home in San Clemente
The view of Dana Point Harbor from lunch at Wind and Sea

Thanks, Mr. Waiter
for the free "birthday" mudd pie! ;-)

Take a Hike

After church today,
Jeremiah and I grabbed some lunch
and headed over to Torrey Pines to hike.

Oh Domingo, You Feel Like Home

Yesterday we got our Sunday back. For the first time in quite a few months, it felt like a Sunday I was use to. A Sunday we were used to.

We planned to go to the early service at church, but when my alarm didn't go off in time, I spent the morning reading my Bible and blogging a bit instead. We made it to the second service at Newbreak -- and I'm glad we went. Looking for a new search is like getting back into the gym as Jeremiah says. It's just not terribly fun and it's something we've been putting off for the past few weeks. But the service this morning felt like home. And I loved that.

After church, we met up with Jeremiah's buddy Jacob for lunch at Uno's. We had plenty of errands to run at the mall, including gift buying for our sweet one-year-old buddies, so we spent a couple hours collecting items off our to do list. I swear I could pick out little girls' clothes all day. And, and that's a big AND, my oh-so-generous husband bought me a beautiful little dress at Antho. I'm pretty sure I've thanked him a hundred times already.

We came home to get some chores done, wrap a few gifts, and I made a birthday banner for Buddha's upcoming birthday. We watched the Olympics and caught up on last week's episode of 24.

It was one of those perfect Sundays that reminded me of the years when Sundays were all we got together. Except this Sunday, we also got to go home together.
Indeed, I fall more in love with that guy every day.

To Dine with Daddy

My dad took me out to lunch today. And it made me wish we could do it every week.

I love hearing about his job, especially because now I understand more than "computer stuff." I love listening to him talk sweetly about my mom. I love walking, er running, down memory lane. I love all the wisdom he has to bestow upon his eldest. And I cherish, absolutely cherish, the time we get to spend together.

I'm so thankful that I have such a wonderful male role model in my life. And that he's so beautifully shared his role as #1 Fan with Jeremiah.

Thank you, dad, for being proud of me, for teaching me, and for sharing your raw thoughts with me. I really appreciate you and am proud of you -- and I want the blogging world to know it!

badaBING

I hung out with this pretty girl today. It was refreshing and reminded me why I like her so much.

She's blatantly honest. Blatant.
She's self-aware.
She's generous and kind.
She makes me laugh.
She works hard and plays harder.
She's intentional.
And boy, she is absolutely gorgeous.

Thanks for lunch, Bingy. I better be seeing a lot more of you.
