Thankful for: Good Health

Yesterday, I stopped by the doctor's office on my way to work.
I had to get my second vaccine in a series of three.

And although that little son-of-a-gun
was not terribly enjoyable at all,
I smiled as I drove off.

I got to leave.

I don't frequent the doctor's office,
nor do I spend time in urgent care or in the hospital.
I can run, jump and play.
I can travel, I can work, I can drive.

I'm healthy.
And for that I am thankful.

Father God,
Thank you for taking care of my body
and for sustaining my every breath.
Please help me to take care of myself
and to treat my body like the special gift it is.
God, I also lift up those who are sick.
Comfort them. and heal them with Your mighty hand.
For You are able.

Shots, Shots, Shots, Shots, Shots, Shots!

Yes, Erin.. that title's for you! :)

Part of the whole "Goal 11: Get Healthier" thang
included scheduling a physical with my primary care physician.

I hadn't been in since before we got married,
so I figured it was a good time to pay the guy a visit.

I got your basic physical, got my moles examined,
and ended up with two shots, two appointments for two more,
and a slip for the blood lab.
(Sidenote: Has anyone else got the HPV? Ouch!)

I thought it was a good sign though,
when my first concern was
not being able to work out my arms at the gym tonight. :)

Progress, people.

This Day Last Year

On this day last year,
Mom was getting cancer removed from her arm.

Today,
she's healthy and cancer-free.

Praise God!

Dollah Dollah Bills, Ya'll!

I often keep an eye out for the pennies in life. Heck, I made a whole blog dedicated to those non-copper ones. And while I think it makes a world of difference to cherish the life out of those little pennies, I also think it's valuable (necessary!) to marvel at the bills every once and a while.

There are small moments when life goes our way or when God peaks His little (ok, it's probably rather large) head out from behind the clouds.. you know, those times when the world is full of rainbows and unicorns and joy-ness for a quick minute (unless that kinda thing scares the heck out of you :) ), but then there are those ways that God has made Himself so known we'd be blind to miss Him. It's almost like His glory is living in our very eyeballs so we can't help but view the world through His goodness. Those bills, the ones that help make us so rich beyond measure, deserve some recognition, too.

So here's a peak inside my wallet today.

I am His beloved.
I am married to my best friend, a God-fearing man.
I have a wonderful family that lives close by.
I am healthy as an ox.
I am a college graduate.
I have friends with beautiful hearts.
I am employeed.
I live in San Diego, Ca, USA... where I can afford rent and water and cable and electricity.
My gramma was at our wedding this summer!
