[Spring] Cleaning

Last week I made a list.
A ginormous list.
[as in a 'these toilets are ginormous' list.]
And I stuck it to the fridge.

Of course, Jeremiah noticed it
and pleaded with me to take it down
as work enough is stressful these days.

But regardless of where it's living,
the list is still very much alive and well in our home.

The list contains a series of chores and to do's
that I'm both procrastinating and secretly excited about.

It's Spring Cleaning time!

This month I'll be:
Washing Windows
Cleaning floors
Scrubbing bathrooms
Dusting furniture
Cleaning out closets
Re-organizing pantries and junk drawers
Vacuuming furniture
Washing sheets
Donating Clothes
Taking others to the Dry Cleaners

Of course "The List" intimidates me too.
Which is why I'm taking a new approach this year.

Instead of blocking off an entire weekend
and getting knee deep in bleach until my nose bleeds from the chemicals,
I've planned to do a little work each week during the month of April.

I'm sure it'll probably feel like the cleaning project that never ends,
but by the end of April,
I will have a fully deep-cleaned and organized home.

I started with my bedroom closet last night
and it felt awe - to - the - SOME.

Do you participate in the Spring cleaning epidemic, too?
Any secret tips and tricks??

Spring weekend on the brain

All I can think of right now is the weekend,
a Spring weekend at that.

A weekend filled with picnics on the grass
reading amidst a field of blooming tulips,
eating ice cream cones while swinging at the [central] park,
flying kites at the Embarcadero,
and in my wildest dreams...
strolling along the streets of Paris.

Instead,
It's going to rain
Hard.

So it's chili and cornbread,
cups of hot tea, warm crackling fires,
and movie after movie while curled up on the couch.

I guess it's not so bad.

But Spring... I pine for you.
And as much as I've learned to enjoy the winter season,
I must admit, I'm still not a huge fan.

Happy Weekend, my friends! Stay dry!

Spring into Spring

It's funny how every time a new season rolls around, I fall in love with it.
Except winter. Never really been a fan of that one. Spring, hurry soon!

Dear March

Dear March,

It's me, Jessi. I'm a pretty big fan of yours, namely because you tend to bring our good friend, Spring, every time you visit. Thank God for you and Spring.

You got here just in time for Jeremiah's Birthday Week. Yes, I capitalize that because it really is an event all in itself. The balloons and streamers are up. We've got birthday dinner plans almost every night this week. And we're ready to celebrate the big 2-6. Thanks for coming so we can start the party!

Sincerely,
Jessi
